Self-diagnose first

Which of these is happening at your place?

Pick the one that matches. It tells you what we’ll most likely be doing — and how fast you need us out.

No water at any tap

Failed pump or motor, a dropped drop-pipe, or a burnt pressure switch. If the well is shallow and it’s been a dry August, it can also be a low water table.

Emergency

Pump runs and never shuts off

Usually a waterlogged pressure tank, a stuck pressure switch, or worn impellers that can no longer reach cut-out pressure. Every extra hour of running shortens the motor’s life.

Same day

Water spits, coughs air, then stops

Air in the line. The pump is drawing down faster than the well recovers, or there’s a break in the drop pipe letting air in.

Same day

Breaker keeps tripping

A shorted motor, damaged wire down the well casing, or a seized pump. Stop resetting it — you’ll turn a repair into a replacement.

Emergency

Sand or grit in the water

The pump has dropped toward the bottom of the well, or the screen is worn. Grit chews through fixtures, softeners and water heaters fast.

This week

Hydro bill jumped with no explanation

A short-cycling or constantly-running pump is one of the biggest phantom loads in a rural home. It’s a symptom, not a mystery.

Three steps

How the visit goes

You call, we ask three questions

Gauge reading, breaker state, and how long you’ve been without water. That decides whether you’re an emergency or a scheduled call, and what goes on the truck.

We diagnose and price it before we touch it

The tech tests the switch, the tank pre-charge and the pump draw, then gives you a flat price. You approve it before any work starts. No hourly meter running while you watch.

Water back on, and we tell you what’s next

You get the reading we finished at, and an honest answer on how long the rest of the system has left — so the next failure isn’t a surprise.

FAQ

Well pump questions we get every week

How long should a well pump last?
A good submersible pump in Simcoe County typically runs 8–15 years. What kills them early is short cycling from a failed pressure tank, sand in the well, and repeated breaker resets. If a pump died at year four, something else in the system caused it, and replacing the pump alone will just buy you another four years.
Can you come out today?
Yes — we run 24/7 emergency well service across Alliston, Barrie, Innisfil and the surrounding townships. A house with no water is treated as an emergency.
Do I need a whole new pump, or just a part?
Often just a part. Pressure switches, gauges, check valves and tank pre-charge account for a large share of “my pump is dead” calls, and those are inexpensive fixes. We test before we quote, which is why the diagnosis comes before the price.
What does a well pump replacement cost?
It depends on the well depth, the pump size and whether the drop pipe and wire are reusable — a 60-foot shallow well and a 300-foot deep well are very different jobs. We give you a firm flat price on site after testing, and the diagnosis is free.
Do you disinfect the well after the work?
Any time a well is opened, it should be disinfected before you drink from it. We handle that as part of the job and tell you how long to wait and flush.
How deep a well can you work on?
We service shallow jet-pump wells through to deep submersible installations, and we pull and re-set pumps ourselves — you don’t need a separate drilling contractor for a pump failure.
What does it cost to get someone out?
Diagnosis is free — finding the fault costs you nothing. There is a $45 service call on weekday visits. Evenings, nights and weekends carry a higher call-out rate, and you’ll be told that number when you book, not after. Once we know what’s wrong you get one flat price for the repair, and nothing starts until you approve it.
What does the 10-year warranty cover?
Major parts are warrantied for 10 years for customers on our maintenance program — keeping the system serviced is what makes that coverage possible, so the program is a condition of it. Equipment also carries its manufacturer’s warranty. Ask us what the program includes and what it costs before you decide.
